Letter from the CEO

Welcome to Tennova Healthcare.

Like Tennova, I am new to this community and extremely proud to be here and, at the same time, also have deep roots in East Tennessee. I was raised in the town of Bristol in upper East Tennessee and my parents live in Kingsport. The wonderful opportunity to come back to this area and lead the new Tennova Healthcare system is a dream come true for me.

My career in health care has spanned more than 25 years and I can honestly say I’ve never been more excited about an organization than I am about Tennova Healthcare. I look forward to leading the growth of the Tennova system into the future, building upon its longstanding mission, and helping it succeed as the leading provider of health care in the region.

You’ll be glad to know the guiding principles of Tennova Healthcare are simple– we want to be the place where associates want to work, where physicians choose to practice medicine, and where patients want to receive health care with the most technologically advanced treatments. This innovative thinking will be the hallmark of Tennova’s approach to health care delivery.

Again, I’m very excited to be joining Tennova and returning to East Tennessee. My wife, Karen, and I look forward to settling in, making new friends, getting involved in community activities, and enjoying the beautiful outdoors for which this region is known.
